Pro Bono Practice

In addition to practicing law, our lawyers are also actively involved in legislative and academic work, pro bono projects in education, and charity and innovation work.

Support of the project “Teacher for Russia”

The Firm gave its pro bono support to the establishment of the Charity Fund for Educational Support and Development “New Teacher” for the school education program “Teacher for Russia”. The project is analogous to the international program “TeachForAll”, which successfully works in 35 countries. The main partner of the project is Sberbank.

The project consists of a two-year fully paid program of leadership development for outstanding university graduates and young specialists who are going to work as teachers. The pilot project will be tested in the schools of the Moscow region starting from September 2015. After the end of the program its graduates will have a choice to continue their career either in education or with the program’s sponsors.

Sponsoring WTO Moot Court

Our firm sponsored the international competition WTO Moot Court, which was held twice in 2012 and 2014 under the auspices of the All-Russian Academy for Foreign Trade. Student teams from law schools from countries including Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan took part in the competition. The Moot Court is a competition between university teams in the area of WTO law and skills of its application on the basis of solving practical cases related to WTO dispute settlement. Partners of the Firm also sat on the judicial panel of the competition and the award ceremony.

Advising Charity Organizations

The Firm advises the Charity Fund Galchonok. In particular, our firm participated in the preparation of the brochure on the rights of disabled children and their families.

Support of Alumni Societies

Our firm provides legal support for the pro bono nonprofit partnership Harvard Alumni Association of Russia and nonprofit partnership Oxford Alumni Association Society of Russia.

Global Education for Russians

Partners of the Firm took an active part in the structuring and promotion of the programme ‘Global Education for Russians’. The program envisages the establishment of a fund with  contributions from the federal budget and state-owned companies to finance education for Russian students pursuing Ph.D. and master’s degrees in leading foreign universities, and then to arrange their subsequent employment in Russian scientific educational centres, the state service, and in companies with state participation.
